Super Sunday – Cinnamon Pretzels

The 50th Super Bowl, this weekend, takes place in Santa Clara, CA, between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos. The Panthers are favored to win by a 6-point spread. They were the best team in the NFL during the regular season and are looking to win their franchise’s first Super Bowl game. Led by quarterback Cam Newton, the Panthers have a punishing running game and a tough & opportunistic defense.

The Denver Broncos quarterback, Peyton Manning, will be the oldest player in the game and the oldest starting quarterback ever in a Super Bowl. With his retirement hinted at, a second Super Bowl title would cement Manning’s legacy as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. The Broncos top-ranked defense possesses a ferocious pass rush. The game promises to be a memorable one on many levels.

Eric will be keenly watching all the game action. I’ll be more focused on the commercials. 26 companies have already unveiled their commercials and released them to the public over the internet. While tempted to watch them online, I’ve managed to restrain myself. I’d rather watch them during the game along with the halftime performance by Coldplay & Beyonce, when I am surrounded by enticing party food to enjoy. These sweet & salty pretzels use just 4 ingredients and take less than 45 minutes to throw together & bake. There’s still plenty of time to make them before the game!
