Welcoming 2021! Elderflower-Champagne Cocktail

It’s a day earlier than my usual Friday posts, due to the New Year’s holiday. And I really want the current year to finally be over! But I also wanted to ensure that anyone who did not have the ingredients for this cocktail on hand to be able to get to a store and get the needed items, if they so desired. With only 3 ingredients, it’s quite quick and simple to make, yet very elegant. Elderflower liqueur, fresh mint, and champagne. That’s all there is to it!

Ringing in a better New Year needs more than plain old champagne to welcome it. The elderflower liqueur adds a fruity and floral essence to the champagne, while the mint gives it a bit of a kick. (Sparkling wine can be used in place of the champagne.) It is a pleasure to be seeing the end of 2020 and all of its problems coming to an end and to be ushering in hope and 2021. Cheers and Happy New Year!
