“Home” Games – Bourbon Cider Cocktail

My original idea to celebrate the return of football season was to post some tailgating recipes: big batch cocktails and finger foods to make ahead and take to tailgating parties prior to the games at the stadiums around the country. Well, as with many things in 2020, tailgating isn’t happening as it has in the past. In fact, currently, with no or few fans in the stadiums, tailgating isn’t happening at all! Each team has their own policies as to what is and is not allowed. And that may change from game to game. For now, we are watching from the comfort of our living room. But we still plan on enjoying the wonderful food I had wanted to bring to the tailgate parties. It’s just not being made in big batches, being packed up, or transported very far!

The cocktail for the Fall Football games viewed from home this season combines bourbon with apple cider and gets a hint of spice from slices of fresh ginger. Enjoy it while making the most of this very different football season.
